Our vocation in the most ordinary days of our lives

We are now on 2nd week (9th Week in the Ordinary Time in our Church calendar) after 7 weeks of Easter Season. While I wish to emphasize to maintain our enthusiasm in reflecting on the Word of God even after a somehow rigid and overlapping themes of Lenten season and Easter Season, weeks in the ordinary time in our liturgy indeed remains extraordinary because of the richness of our liturgy. We take note that in our Sunday liturgy this month, we have the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity (today), the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ next week, and the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Friday after the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. With the richness of our Church Liturgy, and through the love and grace that flow from the unity of the Holy Trinity we may understand that our vocation in the most ordinary days of our lives is to see & witness how the love and grace of God (the Holy Spirit) inspires us daily, and so be able to extend/share to others our experience of inspiration (of being inspired).

The teachings on the Most Holy Trinity remind us that God is relational. God the Father`s love is revealed through the Word becoming flesh to redeem us from untidiness (our sin), and through the Holy Spirit`s grace poured out to us (we – redeemed from sin) as a result of Christ`s Sacrifice. Indeed, we can grasp the mystery of the Trinity only in part (maybe understanding that the love of God is so much overwhelming), but we put our trust in the God`s wisdom demonstrated and revealed in “the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

In our first reading, God`s image(s) are conveyed specifically as slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love and fidelity, compassionate & forgiving. Moses bows down and offers petitions for us stubborn people. We, modern day God`s people, continue to pray to always spare us from sheer stubbornness and be lead to authentic Christian way of life.

In the gospel reading, we realize that Jesus speaks to Nicodemus about God`s love and salvation, There was an invitation to believe in Him (in Jesus) for the promise of eternal life .Let us dig deeper on the meaning of the Holy Trinity, so as to find from the bottom of our hearts the unity, and the love & grace, abounding in One God who exists in three persons, and in awe, be inspired to participate in the great mandate to baptize the many in the name of the Father, of the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We learn from our second reading today that St. Paul encourages the people of Corinth to undergo the process of mending ways, and to greet each other holy greetings. These processes bring-out a life of joy and peace within oneself and among us in the community. Indeed we have so much to share with each other about God`s love and forgiveness. Will you share a moment of your precious time, and find together a most conducive place? Realizing all these, we need to strive destroying walls we have long-created among ourselves, and many other things & ways, and mindsets preventing us to see, experience, and share God`s love, and forgiveness.
