Easter 2022~Divine Mercy Sunday
by Fr. Eeso
While there is still a continues treat of Corona virus infection to our respective home and workplace, Sunday Masses as well as daily masses continue to occur in our parish with some limitations, following all the necessary guidelines in whatever way possible. Other Sacraments were also made possible most specially in preparation for Easter. I have witnessed the enthusiasm of our church leaders brought about by their deep faith, as well as their fidelity to their respective parish committee responsibility promises. Let us continue to serve the Lord through our service to the Church, and let us serve Him with joy, always. Being able to continue to serve the Lord with joy can be understood as special grace each one of us can receive when we respond to God`s calling wholeheartedly. When we gathered both during our Easter Vigil Liturgy and Easter Sunday Liturgy, we have shared about our participation to the mission of Christ to share light with others. While we continue to understand that the Church is where the abundant grace of God flows, and is where we continue to receive Jesus, our Light, we are all inspired to be part of this very special mission of Christ to our brothers and sisters near and far, drawn to share to others the light already in us when we were all chosen to be recipients of the abundant graces of baptism as well as of the sacrament of confirmation. Let us consider the grace of having the time and chance to serve the Lord with joy as a treasure, a treasure we keep not just for ourselves but a treasure meant to be shared. When we receive the sacrament of reconciliation, we are first advised to keep in mind and heart to trust in God with His unending mercy and love and forgiveness. If there is no trust, no mercy, and no love and no forgiveness, there is no joy. Indeed we have all experienced the unending mercy and love of God through the passion, death and resurrection of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Let us continue to learn from the cross of Christ on how we can gain deep joy in serving the Lord through the Church and His people. Therefore, when we start to realize that we are receiving the grace of having the time and chance to serve the Lord with joy, we too, like Jesus, become the instrument of the unending mercy, forgiveness and love of God. In the course of my priestly life, while I continue to acknowledge His unending mercy and love each day, I have felt so specially and strongly His mercy, when, once in my priestIy life, I was heavily challenged. God sent people that will make me better servant of Christ, and deeply realize that the unending mercy and love of God is real! Second Sunday of Easter is called “Sunday of the Divine Mercy.” God is always giving us the best time and best place to ponder upon the goodness of our Lord. We can always find true peace and true happiness through the many graces overflowing the whole year round in our Church`s life. Happy Easter Celebration to all.
